What do we do in the Summer-time?

I can't even start to describe how long our rainy spring lasted this year!  Rain, clouds, and cool weather stayed for so too long, and then have kept coming back to drive us crazy!  About mid July, we were invited to one of The Big Guy Lowe's client's home to enjoy a yearly pool party.  We all had a great time, but as we were driving home, The Big Guy Lowe and I couldn't help but talk about how long it took our boys to get comfortable with the water.  It hit us pretty hard that we were going to be heading to Hawaii at the end of August--spending time at the beach and at the pool our vacation rental has and somehow needed to help our boys get better at enjoying the water!

So, we signed up for a family membership at LakeShore Athletic Club so we could enjoy their outdoor pools!  After just a few times, G is just as comfortable in the water as a fish!  D is getting better at enjoying it all, and J, well, let's just say, it's going to take some time!

Often, the boys and I will head over to the pool to play, and sometimes The Big Guy Lowe gets to come too!
There is a great waterslide that empties into the big pool.  G is great at heading down very fast!
You can see G standing at the very top waiting for the lifeguard to give him the go-ahead.
The slide continues around to the big pool.  You get a shot of the kiddie pool too.  That's where I spend just about all of my time!  :)
J likes to keep to the side of the kiddie pool.  We're still working with him, but we always have a good time!
And of course, we can't go to the pool without snacks.  Hmmm, we really don't go anywhere without snacks!  :)  This particular day was a bit chilly (go figure!) so the boys were wrapped up and sharing a chair, snacks and a drink.  Cute boys.

We've really had fun at the pool so far this summer.  We even convinced some of our good friends to join up so we could spend some fun time together!  Unfortunately, the first time their dad joined them for some fun, a "displaced clavicle" occurred.  Ouch!  That cut our fun a bit short that night, but we'll try to meet up with them again soon...maybe without their new "bionic man".  Come on, what's the big deal with a plate and seven screws anyway?  ;)  Get better soon!!

Ha! Did you notice that they don't have the mats anymore? It's all Nathan's fault. ;P
Come back from your trip soon and let's play again! The bionic man is bored.
